Physical Education
PFAA PE Policy:
PFAA students must complete 20 credits of PE. Students can complete this requirement by taking dance classes for PE credit at Natomas Charter School, or outside of Natomas Charter School. Below is the criteria:
- On-site dance classes taken for PE credit CANNOT be used toward elective or arts elective credit.
- Approved supervised, independent physical activity done outside of Natomas Charter School:
- Off-site classes taken in private studios, organized sports team activities, or routine exercise programs through health and fitness clubs.
- All hours must be documented by a supervising adult (other than parents).
- 20 hours of documented physical activity = 1 PE credit (10 PE credits = 200 hours; 20 PE credits = 400 hours)
- All activities must be recorded on a PE Log.
- PE hours can take place any time throughout high school beginning in the 9th grade, and also during summers.
- Deadline for classes of 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014: all PE logs must be submitted to the academic counselor no later than the first week of the spring semester of the 12th grade.
- Deadline for class of 2015 and beyond: 10 PE credits must be completed by the end of the 10th grade. PE logs will be due on June 1st of the 10th grade. All other PE logs must be submitted to the academic counselor no later than the first week of the spring semester of the 12th grade.

- Organized sports (i.e. soccer team, baseball team)
- Exercise classes at a local studio (i.e. dance, martial arts, yoga, cycling, etc.)
- Natomas Parks & Recreation Classes
- Community College fitness classes (students must have completed the 10th grade and have at least a 2.7 GPA. See the counselor for the application process): www.losrios.edu
- Mr. Hampton's Speed, Strength, and Agility training from 4:00 to 5:00 on MWF. Meet him in front of the gym at 4pm. Bring your PE log for him to sign.
- "Buffalo Chips Youth" Running and Racing: free trial period; $20 per year www.eteamz/com/buffalochips/
- English or Western Horseback Riding (horses supplied): $45 per lesson at Creekwood Equestrian Park, contact Linda Waldeck (916) 476-0282
- Free fitness classes at the Clubhouse in Natomas for Natomas Park residents including Cardio Mix, Core and Abs, and Circuit Training. www.natomasparklive.com
- Speed and agility programs and specific sports clinics: dynamitesportsspeed.com
- Sacramento Taekwondo Club: $100 per month plus gear (discounts for family memberships) www.sacramentotaekwondo.com
